Management Graphics Sapphire Slide Recorder FOR SALE |
MGI Sapphire Slide Recorder
Management Graphics Sapphire Slide Recorder
in MINT condition and extremely CLEAN
This beautiful Sapphire Slide Recorder has been very well cared for. The case
looks absolutely new and the machine is extremely clean.
The Sapphire Slide Recorder images 4k 35mm slides in as little as 35 seconds.
The unit also supports 2K, 3K, 6K and 8K resolutions. Custom internal Look-Up
Tables (LUTs) provide calibrated colors for many common professional and
standard films. In addition, users can retain their own LUTs with a simple
"save" command from the front panel.
The Sapphire's unique straight film path helps prevent time-consuming misthreads.
A Digital Pin Registration system ensures accurate film positioning from frame
to frame, while Digital Geometry Control (DGC) automatically manages image
settings such as alignment, vignette, linearity, orthogonality, aspect ratio,
dynamic focus and size.
Standard GPIB and SCSI interfaces provide connectivity with Macs, PCs and UNIX
workstations.
With 8K imaging and an enhanced optical path, Sapphire slides contain a greater
density range for blacker blacks, whiter whites and brighter, more vibrant
colors when projected for on-screen presentations.
Imaging 4K 35mm slides in as little as 35 seconds (or 100 slides per hour),
Sapphire increases MGI's earlier desktop film recorder imaging speeds by as much
as 42 percent. Sapphire images chromes and negatives at standard 2K, 4K and 8K
resolutions, and, with the increasing importance of Photo CD to desktop users,
the unit is fully compatible with Photo CD's standard 3K and 6K resolutions.
Custom internal Look-Up Tables (LUTs) provide calibrated colors for many common
professional and standard films. In addition, users can retain their own
individual LUTs with a simple "save" command from the front panel.
Sapphire has many unique features. A unified bulk load - 35mm cassette film
transport lets users choose between long roll or standard cassette without
module changes or adapters to insert. A unique straight film path makes
threading easy and avoids time consuming misthreads. The film follows a straight
path into the take-up magazine, which uses a self-winding film system, resulting
in the shortest film path in the industry. In addition to generating exceptional
image quality, Sapphire is designed to make slide production as easy as possible
for the end user.
A color-coded, push-button front panel gives Sapphire users complete control of
the image. Users can change color, brightness, contrast, image size, position
and more. The front panel also steers operators through daily functions
including loading, unloading, notching and cutting film. Five LEDs keep
operators up to date on Sapphire's current status.
Like all MGI film recorders, Sapphire uses MGI's Digital Geometry Control (DGC),
a patented system that automatically manages image settings such as alignment,
vignette, linearity, orthogonality, aspect ratio, dynamic focus, and size. All
characteristics are checked during operation so the settings do not drift. Users
are assured of high-quality images every time they shoot film.
Sapphire also uses MGI's Digital Pin Registration (DPR) system for accurate
image positioning from frame to frame. Every frame is registered to the CRT, not
just the aperture, for the highest consistency available. Both cassette and bulk
film are automatically registered through this digital process.
The MGI Sapphire film recorder is available for outputting 35mm slides at a
resolution of 4000 pixels on the long axis of the film frame. The Sapphire
produces images of very high sharpness, accuracy and linearity.
