SPECIAL ELECTROSURGICAL UNITS FOR
LAPAROSCOPY AND OTHER MININIAL INVASIVE PROCEDURES
Endoscopic surgery has established itself as a
standard procedure throughout the world. Since the technique significantly
differs from open surgery, special electrosurgical generators are recommended.
ELMED has been in the forefront of developing
endoscopic instrumentation. Based on over 20 years of experience and
collaborating with prominent surgeons we introduced a line of
special
electrosurgical generators for laparoscopy and minimal invasive
procedures. These units meet and exceed all recommendations of the Committee
on Standards of the American Association of Gynecological Laparoscopists and
other recognized standards.

THE ELMED LINE OF ESU 100 GENERATORS FEATURE:
- Three RF-solid state circuits. One for unipolar
cutting and coagulation in the MICRO or MACRO modes, one for bipolar
coagulation, and one for BI-POL CUTTING ESU 100 E M/M-B only).
- Accepts all laparoscopic or pelviscopic
electrosurgical instruments.
- Single pedal footswitch operated, with low voltage
switching circuit.
- Patient safety circuit. Automatic, low voltage
sentry, alarms and deactivates the unipolar output in case of a defect in
the connections for the patient plate circuit. Optionally, our Return
Electrode Monitor System is available, which also will alarm and deactivate
the unipolar output in case of poor patient plate contact.
- Change-over switch for unipolar or bipolar
operation, defeats the patient plate alarm in the bipolar mode.
- Visual and audible RF-indicators.
- L.E.D. Bar-graph meter for unipolar wattage.
- Low voltage bipolar generator provides reliable
coagulation with all available bipolar forceps for laparoscopy, pelviscopy
and microsurgery.
- Musical coagulation monitor for the bipolar mode
provides both audible and visual indication of the degree of tissue
coagulation, particularly for bipolar tubal sterilization (Not available on
the 100 L).
- SMART-O-MATIC, automatic compensation circuit
provides the desired output for all electrodes or tissue conditions. The
automatic range control, which is divided into ten steps, requires no
readjustment within the set range. The SMART-O-MATIC operates in both the
unipolar and bipolar modes.
- Output intensity may be precisely regulated within
the full range of the dial setting. However, investigations have
demonstrated 20 W at 100 Ohms achieves optimal results, therefore, we have
incorporated a preset selection and 20 W range preselect switch (Not
available on 100 L).
- All of these ELMED 100 series Electrosurgical Units
are designed as table top units. A specially designed cart (List No.
52-5067) is available for these described units and other endoscopic
equipment.
